Nestle / Arla
Jonathan Dixon, Senior VP of Sales at Arla, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside Nestle to help those most in need across the UK. Since kick-starting our partnership with FareShare over eight years ago, we have implemented a seamless process with our UK sites to re-distribute surplus food waste and transfer it into the equivalent of 1.25 million breakfasts for those in need.”
ECO Edlington is a charity that puts together breakfast packs so anyone can pick up a box of cereal and milk. Cath, one of the volunteers there, said, “This way, we know that at least the kids are getting fed before they go to school if they can’t get into a school club. I think it makes a big difference having something like this in the village; it sets the kids up for their day ahead. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, after all. We also use Nestle cereals and Arla milk in our emergency food parcels. These parcels are filled with food from FareShare and are for the individuals who come to us in crisis without getting food on their tables. The partnership between FareShare & Nestle means that those in need can have a positive start to the day and build healthy habits.”
