Celebrating Organic September with Waitrose Duchy Organic
Sales of Waitrose Duchy Organic products generate vital income to support the Fund’s charitable work. Over £45 million has been raised to date, creating lasting improvements to people’s lives and promoting a sustainable future for all.
This Organic September, we celebrate the pioneering Duchy Organic brand, founded by HM King Charles III in 1990, when he was HRH The Prince of Wales and licensed exclusively to Waitrose since 2009.
Waitrose Duchy Organic is now a leading brand in the organic market with one of the biggest ranges of over 300 products. The range is built on the shared principles of Good Food, Good Farming and Good Causes.
Nikki Jeffery, KCCF Executive Director, said
Every purchase of a Waitrose Duchy Organic product helps us to support charities tackling environmental and social issues facing communities across the UK and internationally. Championing food farmed in harmony with nature, the Duchy Organic brand is bringing lasting benefits to people and the planet in so many different ways.
The range also works to be as environmentally friendly as possible – did you know that Waitrose Duchy Organic eggs were the first to be sold in a box made from a mixture of rye grass and recycled paper, which uses 60% less water and 50% less paper pulp?
Following the renaming of the Fund and the launch of our new branding, we are delighted that our new logo is now starting to appear on Waitrose Duchy Organic products in store. In line with our shared commitment to environmental goals, the change in packaging is being phased in gradually to minimise any wastage.
