Erskine Hospital
- Health and Wellbeing
Throughout the pandemic, Erskine used 8,000 masks each week.
Erskine Hospital was supported by an award from The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund (PWCF) COVID-19 Recovery Fund. These funds helped the Hospital to adapt to the pandemic, and enabled the purchase of vital PPE supplies.
Erskine’s residents enjoy the highest possible quality of life through compassionate care and the companionship of fellow veterans. The residents have an average age of 85 and over 60% are living with a dementia diagnosis. The welfare and wellbeing of vulnerable residents remained a priority throughout the pandemic. A range of enhanced care services were able to continue, including seated exercise classes, Namaste dementia therapy and socially-distanced group activities.
We are pleased to share some recent feedback from residents and their families:
‘I love it here. I feel I haven’t lost any of my independence – I’m holding on to it for as long as I can.’
‘As a family, we have been well supported during these difficult times. When Mum was very ill, it was great to be able to visit her indoors after being tested. I am happy with all the procedures in place to ensure the safety of Mum and all the family, especially during our visits. Our family visits are private and well-organised in a warm and comfortable setting.’
